The postcard shots, some street images and reflections from both cities. Included are also some photographs from a visit to the Musée d’Art et d’Industrie de la ville de Roubaix “La Piscine” located at a former indoor swimming pool, with a notable art deco interior built in the late 1920s.
Villa Cavrois
Villa Cavrois is an impressive modernist mansion built in the late 1920s for a local mogul of the textile industry and his large family who lived there until the 1980s. The estate fell into decay, was saved from demolition by the French state, and elaborately restored and redecorated in the original style. Since 2015 it is open to the public. For further information see comprehensive Wikipedia article and YouTube video on the restoration.
