Two weeks in June as a summer vacation: First down from Dublin to the “Sunny South-East” near Westport, which wasn’t that sunny this year after all, then westward to County Kerry, the Beara Peninsula, and Killarney, and a last stop in County Galway.
Gear: Leica M11 with Voigtländer 21 mm / F 1.8 ULTRON VM Ashperical, ZEISS Biogon T* 2.8/28 ZM, Leica Summarit 35mm 2.4 Asph, Leica Summarit 50mm 2.4, Leica APO-Summicron-M 1:2/75mm ASPH, Leica Elmarit 90mm F/2.8, and a couple of shots with the Leica Tele-Elmar 1:4/135mm.
The Land and the Sea
On the ‘Emerald Isle’ the sea with its sandy beaches or rugged cliffs is usually not further away than a couple of hours drive from the evergreen hills and valleys in the centre.
If you ignore the run-of-mill American-style family homes that seem to be shooting up like mushrooms along the country roads everywhere for the last twenty years, there is beautiful architecture in abundance and history omnipresent.
Urbanity
Street images and scruffy cityscapes from Cork, Galway, Athlone, Williamstown, Lismore, Youghal, and Skibbereen.
If you are in the mood for more images from the British Isles, maybe take a look at these earlier posts.
