Mariendom Neviges Spring 2021
COVID Lockdown seemed to provide the perfect opportunity to visit Mariendom at Neviges built by architect Gottfried Böhm in the 1960s. In a normal year this place of pilgrimage and brutalist icon in the small town between Wuppertal and Velbert would probably have been packed with tourists and the faithful on Ascension Day. Unfortunately the photographic experience was somewhat impaired by parts of the roof and the west front being heavily scaffolded due to restoration works.
