Brutalist Churches
Some outside shots from three churches in our area: Sankt Matthäus in Düsseldorf Garath, Heilig-Geist in Erkrath Hochdahl, both by architect Georg Böhm in the 1970s, and Sankt Paulus in Neuss, built by Fritz Schaller in the 1960s. Because of their visible concrete structure they belong to the “brutalist” movement.
